That "Brave Yak" was Winnie; indeed but Nor in disguise; climbing hills and crossing valleys in Kashmir in search of Truth, but always eating from the grasses of lies. Knowing that the end of the world was fast approaching, Nor threw curve balls to Potius using Dan as a figure of hope when actually leading GN to continue to develop the escape vehicle. Now, flying the prototype along the Mexican Coast, Winnie prepares for the departure while leaving Dan behind. Kashmir will one day rule the universe from the back of a Yak while Nor and the pseudo Princess live forever on a diet of yak crap.

I cannot even account for the number of times we've gone through this drama about it being over only for things to spring back to where things were before the latest 'ending' occurred. [Below is from 99] Jake, you are being disingenuous in your comments above which are, of course, incorrect .... like I said, I can't account for the number of times Dan has, for one reason or another, asked "Is the R&D show over?" where things are left at a standstill, like a cliffhanger at the end of a tv show, with everybody wondering if indeed the show is over and this time for good!
Then after a little time goes by, inevitably 'that show' resumes again as if nothing ever happened that indicated to Dan that the show was possibly over.
Always, it seems like it's been that back and forth thing concerning the status of that 'show'.
I'm not surprised at all that you disagree with my comments on this Jake because you always make it a point to disagree with me on anything I say, just for the sake of disagreeing with me! I suspect that the reason why you are like this with me is because I rarely am in agreement with many things that you say Jake... and your current comments are a case in point.
But unlike you, I don't disagree with you on things, just for the sake of doing that .... like you did in this case with my observations about the back and forth status of the R&D show --which were, as you well know, correct. Note: Sorry but I thought I was creating a new post with your comments quoted in it where I deleted the second part of it where you were addressing Dan directly about something because I only wanted to comment on the part where you were addressing me. Didn't intentionally mean to 'edit' your current post here. -fixed- |

Having said this, it DOES sound like the R&D Show is indeed finally OFFICIALLY over and I'm sure for Dan's sake, this is a good thing.
At any rate, I'm going to bow out of this conversation now because, like many of us, we enjoy seeing Dan and Jake conversing or debating about these topics and I would hate to see Jake stop posting here just because I'm putting in my .02 cents here too sometimes.
So on with the conversation! If I have anything to say about anything in these conversations, I will send my comments to Dan via PM or email.

99, I don't live in the world of the disengenuois. Nor do I play trivial mind games. Having said this, it DOES sound like the R&D Show is indeed finally OFFICIALLY over and I'm sure for Dan's sake, this is a good thing. This is not a good thing for Dan. It means Armageddon is on the table. And the BPWH will not be part of the due diligence for PtB propaganda. As Jack Sarfatti said, that RP said; "90% of you won't be here in another 20 years". |

You may both be right about R&D......
The situation does continue to evolve or devolve, as the case may be......
After years of politely declining invitations of sail on the good ship Lollipop, I finally caved, this last time around. It was in a moment of delerium, pure and simple. For a minute I thought that Ron might be sane and that I was crazy, but it turned out that we were both crazy.
Here's what may have finally happened......
Over the years, I've always tended to assume that he was compose mentos. I always was willing to give him the benefit of the occasional doubt. However, the recent confluence of events has forced me to reconsider the odds and the oddities.
I need only point to those three meeting with Chris S, SSCI, in 1995. Here was the closest that a may ever get to any horse's mouth, and the operative word was 'competence'. However, in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, minutes after turning Pelican into the FBI, I managed to get through to Chris, even though he was no longer in the federal employ. I was trying to explain my concerns wrt to R, but I was not getting through. It was like he was talking to ghost. There was actual fear in his voice, and it wasn't just about 9/11. It was something rather more personal. He hung up on me. That did give me pause. It should have given me more pause, it would seem.
What I am now coming to infer is that 'competence' was probably not the most accurate word for my 'handlers'. I think that the more accurate word would have been 'efficient' or 'effective'. 'Competent' almost sounds comfortable and manageable. But this is not where we were. Now, I'm sure that most of you will be reading negativity into this rephraseology. And you would be partly correct. What I have in mind is something more like..... well, this is what more accurately might have been said by Chris..... Well, son, good luck and Godspeed..... Just don't ever look over your shoulder.....!

Up to this point in my brief sojourn, I'd been assuming that Ron had my back, so that I wouldn't need to be looking over my shoulder.
I'm tending to believe that this is not totally accurate. He has my back, but only in an operationally defined sense. What other sense might there be? I suppose I might suggest a more philosophical sense, although I never saw any indication that he had a philosophical bone in his body. What was I thinking? Ok, here it is..... That he would occasional have been vouchsafed glimpses of the larger picture, so that he would have a clue or two about the future. Hmmm....... That might not quite be the case. He may be much more in the dark than I would have liked to think, even just a few days ago.
Where does this leave the rest of us? Where does it leave me? Where does it leave God?
Being cut loose from the Mothership is not anything personal, certainly not between Ron and me. What it finally amounts to is that there is no...... other? ..... lifeline. IOW, the nearest I was ever going to get to the Mothership was in those few nocturnal minutes with Sophia, back in 1977. That was it, sports fans. I had supposed that Ron would necessarily be connected with some sort of surrogate, such as MJ12. And, yes, I still suppose that he is, but now I understand that it is a 'blind' connection..... there is no coherent or even cognitive aspect to it. The connection would be.... what... visceral, perhaps?
So, it's turning out that, of all the folks who have any official(?) dealings with 'phenomena', that he may be the most compartmented of all...... strictly working by the seat of his pants, trying to keep his little plane straight&level through the storm, towing me, behind, in the glider, while I take in the sights, with my hand on the red release lever.
What would be the profile for such a tow pilot? Competence? Sanity? Hmmm....... not necessarily. It would be keeping his eye on the ball. Sanity implies something more comprehensive. Comprehensive implies something almost approaching a worldview, heaven forbid!
Amongst Avians, the test for sanity was to be able to purchase a coffee at a 7-Eleven, without causing a commotion. Some did not pass. Ron and Kit were able to pass.
But I'm talking about something a bit more, such as dealing with phenomena. Only once, very privately, did Ron ever acknowledge the existence of a phenomenology problem. I just figured that all the other denials were simply a cover, but, now, I'm not quite so sure about that. I'm thinking that the cover may have extended to include his own little self. That is how he has managed to keep his 'sanity' for all these years..... how he can keep buying coffees at 7-Eleven. But, of course, that does raise the question as to R&D. Where was the rationale?

Jake, Thanks for reminding us of this one...... It seems like it was an aeon ago, but it was only two years. So, yes, he has had a couple of other moments of lucidity, but, still, we now have the convo with Sam, and the partially abortive cruise. What was he thinking? Sure, he is not the complete materialist, he does know that sh*t happens, but he doesn't lay awake nights, worrying his pretty little head about it. He never did take over the weird desk. He only ever dismantled it, and shut down the Aviary, Stargate, the Phenomenology group..... you name it..... And all he has to show for it is a poor Little Chicken, still hanging around his neck. Yes, he is a trouper. He would much rather be designing solar drones, than having to hold my hand on a cruise. Is there any rhyme or reason to this ghastly remnant of R&D? There has always been a cruise in the offing. But this time around, the insistence just seemed to be at a new level. I left the door open, and he kept his foot firmly planted, therein. Until the last hour, when I just became physically 'sick'. It was going to be over my dead body. I would love nothing more than to be thrown into a room with a dozen materialists and a dozen evangelicals, to be interrogated for 48 hours, on the high seas, or in Area 51. But to spend nine days holding the hands of his two 'abductee' cousins was well beyond my call of duty. One or both of us would have ended up overboard. It's that simple. He has never looked back. Who's got his back? Somebody must. How did he get hooked up with Blue Jay, in the first place? That is the only real question. That he was the leader of a vampire rock-group in grad school, and his uncle was involved with the Soviet sub recovery..... That probably had something to do with it. But somewhere, back then, he got a 'phone call', or something, that set off some serious alarms. At the infamous lunch with Mockingbird and a horse whisperer, I was placed next to a young employee. He told me later that this young man had disappeared, on a camping trip in Glacier Park. He was found a few days later. There was something recovered from his backpack that set off alarms all over DC. It doesn't take a whole lot, to get a lot of folks attention. You only have to whisper the right words in the right person's ear, so to speak. That is the sort of thing we are dealing with, in these latter days. Ron never looks back. I do, with fear and trembling..... That's what I'm 'paid' to do. He goes on building solar drones. I go on blogging, and, yes, sipping...... And what are those security concerns about? Surely, not about the eschaton! That would be a cold day in hell! Bottom line.......? Partially abortive cruise...... He can never be my Sophia surrogate. And, if he can't, then, presumably, no one can. I'm left twisting in the wind. MJ12? OTL.... so sorry, try again later. Is there something here that I didn't already know? Maybe there is just a bit more emPHAsis on it. A bit more of finality about it. Finality to R&D? No, but it truly is just WYSIWYG!! Don't look back, not about that. Let Ron make his drones, and enjoy all the BBQ chicken you can eat. No more rumbles at the Hut. C2C? Even that might be asking too much. Jump the fence? Hmmm...... No, you'd have to be a lot more creative than that. Sit and wait patiently? Well, keep on blogging and wait for the duck to drop, with the $100 bill.... it won't take a whole lot more than that. ------------ Having beaten this poor dead horse once again, shall we not head back to the State of the World thread........? . |

You might also wish to include, in parallel, the 'repositioning' of '06, and the career tracks of Generals Stubblebine and Clapper, etc... And how could you leave out John Gannon. ...... Yes, there have been some developments in what I used to refer to as the 'R&D' show...... At 8pm on Sunday I received a seemingly facetious, yet very emphatic email concerning the disclosure of personal information wrt R,A&K, threatening that I would have to 'walk the plank' unless I changed my protocol. Yes, I did briefly post unnecessary, inessential information, but it was clear that R&D was no longer on track. And, as of a few hours ago, I'm no longer partaking of the alleged sea cruise.
