Proboards are not Moderators of forum content. They are servers & providers of forums. They should not be used as Moderators. This is true. You guys, if all of you had come to me in the first place and spoken clearly as you are here, the suspension of OMF could have been prevented, hurtfully received comments could have been tempered, and confusion & miscommunications could have been resolved without offense or further misconduct. There is still a bit more to this story...please continue. All parties are welcome here. OMF and it's community does indeed have a future but it must start with facing each other clearly and respecting each individuals personal truths even if oneself or someone else disagrees. Relating to each other begins with open communication. This allows for sorting out the issues to then achieve moving to create the proverbial third option. Just keep it slow so that everyone can follow the example you are setting here. Good work all. Cy |

I have a dual sided response. The first is, I couldn't post on OM, I am a permanently banned member. I also don't do socks. (though I considered it for a while if I should) I asked people to get Jakes email but nothing was ever forthcoming. I only had Doves, ScaRz email and two others. But they aren't the right people to ask for an intervention. (most of those left or were "on the edge"...cough "dove") The second is, are you sure that Bren would have even have listened to anything I would request? Perhaps he was blind for a few days as he Modded from one corner of the forum to the other? I mean Dove couldn't even get him to unhide the encounters section. She was banned (Bren wasn't fond of her) and then reinstated after she pulled one too many activist stunts. There is still a bit more to this story...please continue. All parties are welcome here. I already told Arch/Bren what he should probably do in order to end the reports. The one whom really tumbled OMF was Ed Fouche and Zorgon fighting it out. The guy sent the complaints like a fully loaded machine gun at full tilt. I am not even sure he was the only one. 5 pages is a hell of a lot more than the 9 reports Ed Fouche made. (+1 that killed the forum) ------------------------------- At one point in the forums timeline, during the start of the thread moving (and deleting) saga. Bren put a number of threads in one section (general posting rules section) to show how many threads were reported. (Correct me if I am wrong on this) I saw my two threads, ScaRz thread, a bunch of old and small threads, Traynors Threads, and a few popular threads that didn't seem to be attention worthy. Later, the thread moving evolved into something completely different with vague remarks of GW about getting someone "off their back" and then a mention of a "security loop hole". I assume Bren was not yet aware of Proboards removing and deleting threads as he said it didn't show up in the logs on the open board. ----------------- Later than even that, he started saying mysterious things about people reading PM's, emails or something or other. Though he wasn't particularly coherent or maybe some posts I missed in reading the full story. Finally the "Ghost in the System" idea was born. Around that time I reported A99 and proboards asked me in my email to provide further information in order to remove it. When I explained and did, I saw the posts disappear after a few minutes. That's when I went to TOP and wrote about it, thats when Jake read about my explanation of the "Ghost in the System". He put two and two together and figured out at least some part of the mystery. Thats when A99 tangled with him for a bit. (Dunno what was going through her head though). |

thanks I have to wonder... How many skype or telephone calls (voice) did the co-admins make with Bren in the month of August? How many times did they call Bren in the month of September. How many times in the month of October. How many times in the month of November. How many times in the month of December. |

So, is this to be the new home to those who do not wish to live under the hyper moderation occurring at the Outpost?
Are efforts being made to create a new, more robust forum for the various topics of interest? Given the fact that it seems someone can complain to PB and get an entire decade of work removed in a matter of days, would it be wise to move things to a private server?

Hi guys; I just got here by following the direction of an email sent to me by Cys some days ago! Well...Cys, Agent 99 and myself had tried to save OMF from demise, even though we thought would come about sooner or later....at the deplorable state of affairs...members become disorderly...and sometimes openly accuse one another...! But this "nightmare" at OMF is now over...thank God! I have now established my own forum which is known as free120forum.proboards.comIf any of our friends decided to visit with me at this forum, you are always welcome and equally welcome would be write a post or two to grace my "infantile" forum...! Any enterprise begins with just one small step....and this is what I am doing or already accomplished. I am tired of being bossed around and I decided to strike out on my own now as the administrator of this forum. Finally, I end here by saying that I joined the now defunct OMF as a member on February of 2005 after being inspired by SERPO Chronicle which I heard one night by the famous Art Bell.... I could never dream that someday in future...I wish I could have the crystal ball...that OMF...like any public organization would come to such a sad end through incompetence and factional bouts and perhaps by sheer neglect. I have learned a lesson as I am trying out on my own to establish my own forum and will try to be a good, understanding and fair admin. I hope you guys which we have been together at OMF would guide and help me in anyway possible with this forum of mine. One small step which I attempted to take....and another one. OMF is not a dead community but it is being right now required to learn from the mistakes and misunderstandings. I will be supporting a third option/a Renewal as my earlier post implied, when all has been aired and a return to civil discourse as a community is fully in place. I'm here assisting in achieving this. Only one forum is necessary for this work... Ok, folks,
I realize both Jake & GW have offered appealing places but I'm going to request that everyone hold off just yet and finish working with me first...and here is the reason why:
This problem did not originate with ProBoards. It is exactly as Dove implied, a composite of issues that originated with the membership and "auxillary" members....
This must be sorted out, brought to a mutual understanding among everyone, and the community returned to respecting each other or at least treating each other that way and civil discourse.
If this is not done, then the fight will only continue anew, no matter where you go...
I don't believe anyone here wants to import the problem to someone else's house. Let's finish this here so that everyone can achieve: what they are looking for...that they want to understand, come to terms and experience Renewal
That the mistakes are not repeated.
This can be done here...it won't if you spread out elsewhere again.
One restores your property to you...the other leaves it in the hands of the "adults" in the other room.

Good point Cy and I agree you too. The conversation that's in the thread should continue here at this location now for the time being because all of us are still seeking more clarity on everybody's viewpoints having to do with those issues that are being discussed here now.
